This course focuses on the study of clinical pharmacology therapies across the lifespan, and the scientific principlesunderlying their use in professional nursing. Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug-drug interactions, andadverse drug events are reviewed. The content accentuates the nurses role and responsibility for safe patient carerelated to administering medications. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of collaboration, patient education,and alternative and complementary therapies, while using evidence-informed science and being mindful of relevantsocial and cultural factors.
