This clinic focuses on advocating for the rights of youth and families when the state involuntarily intervenes into their family life. Students in the clinic have the opportunity to practice individual client representation skills on behalf of youth and adult clients as well as systems change advocacy skills on behalf of organizational clients. Individual client representation includes litigation at the state administrative level as well as in the Massachusetts Juvenile and Superior Courts. Each student works on at least one litigation matter and on one community advocacy/policy matter.
