In this course, we will review alternative theories of wages and employment determination. Importancewill be placed on the integration of economic theory with observed labor market data to correctly estimate empiricalmodels. Additionally, we will apply a variety of methods used to identify causality in empiricalstudies such as the return to education, the value of military experience, and the impact of welfare programs on laborforce participation.
