Conducted in Italian.. A reading of the <i>Divina Commedia</i> in its entirety, examined at its multiple levels of meaning, literal and allegorical, theological, political, psychological, and artistic. The course will also introduce the student to the most current schools of interpretation and analytical methodologies, as well as interrogate the poem for its responses to the fundamental questions of human existence: God, the Cosmos, the Self, Good and Evil, Right and Wrong, Love and Hate, Suffering and Happiness.
