Very engaging professor and light grader. The class is slides based and you mostly need to know vocab and how that connects with concepts. She is very sweet and very humble. She cares a lot about her students!

What are states and where do they come from? How do democracy and development interact? Why do different countries organize their politics differently? What is the role of ethnicity or religion in contemporary societies? The course will answer these questions and more by looking at what goes on within (rather than among) states. Real-life case studies that illustrate the main topics and theories of comparative politics will be drawn from all major regions of the world, including the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
