This course will explore the manifestations and causes of important neurological and psychiatric diseases. A major focus will be the impact of advances in genetics and genomics on our understanding of these disorders. Diseases with major public health impact including Alzheimers disease, autism, and schizophrenia will be covered in detail. This course will provide excellent preparation for further study of brain disorders in the setting of medicine, allied health professions, public health, public policy, or the pharmaceutical industry.3
