This course focuses on the study of clinical pharmacology therapies acrossthe lifespan and the scientific principles underlying their use in professional nursing.Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug-drug interactions, and adverse drug events arereviewed. The content accentuates the nurses role and responsibility for safe patient care relatedto administering medications. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of collaboration,patient education, and alternative and complementary therapies while using evidence-informedscience and being mindful of relevant social and cultural factors.
