BSLW2050 · Business Law
Carroll School of Management
This course offers students with a unique and memorable opportunity to study abroad in the ancient city of Athens Greece. Known as the birthplace of western civilization democracy, arts, science and education, Greece, rich in ancient history, food and beautiful landscapes, provides students with a practical and immersive educational opportunity. In examining current Data Privacy Laws, students will gain valuable insight into how computer technology, specifically the advancement in wireless devices and the need to stay connected has transformed how society conducts its daily business across wireless networks and how the intimate details of your personal life have created a business opportunity reaping large profits. In the United States, Data Privacy Laws have traditionally taken a hands-off approach, favoring commercial use over individual data privacy, in contrast to European Union Member States, including Greece who have established data privacy protection as a fundamental, constitutional right. Academic studies will not be limited to being conducted within traditional classroom walls, ancient ruins and breathtaking landscapes, will also be classroom. Students will have the opportunity to disconnect from their wireless devises, as we explore Athens Greece, neighboring cities and town, including Greek Islands, embarking in a culturally enriched, immersive educational experience.
