ENGL2887 · English
Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences
In this course, we shall work together to create literature for young adults and/or middle school graders. Our creative process will involve reflecting on the major characteristics of our intended audience, identifying the topics that can grab their attention, choosing the genre(s) we would like to work with, identifying stylistic elements that will carry the stories we want to tell, and deploying the elements as effectively as we can. The course will entail lots of reading and discussion of sample writing for young adults and/or middle graders and drafting and editing of our own work. We will have class readings of the work we produce.
