Dr. Brooks seemed to genuinely care about trying to get people excited about calc. Go to her office hours! Its really helpful when you are confused about something on the homework or labs. We definitely covered a lot of topics, and if you miss class, then you'll fall behind. But otherwise, homework/exam work load wasn't too bad.

She talks a lot but doesn't often go through the content well enough to teach it. Tries to be funny and needs to put better effort teaching than trying to joke.

Dr Brooks was a great professor and she kept class fun. It was definitely the class I looked forward to the most. Good luck with exams and even homework lol. If you so much as blinked in class you could miss something on the exam, which also included questions that had nothing to do with what we learned at times. But, there'd always be a kimK curve

Brooks is a very nice woman and is very knowledgeable in the course material. She strives to make class entertaining however sometimes the lectures can be very repetitive and dry. But the exams are manageable and so is the homework load.

While the homework and tests can be hard, I really like Dr. Brooks. She is really funny and makes class enjoyable, and she also is reliable outside class. While you will have to work hard, it is definitely manageable to get a good grade in her class. The tests have some hard questions, but most of the test questions are like homework/notes.

The class is hard but i seriously LOVE Dr. brooks. Shes super enthusiastic about math and teaching and puts a lot of effort into trying to make the material understandable. I was dreading taking calc but dr. Brooks makes it as welcoming an environment as possible!! Also, she is hilarious more like 99% of the time, dont believe the other review

Her teaching style does not mesh well with how I learn. I understand all of the content in class and then the material on the tests is completely different "application" problems. One of the questions on our last test NOBODY got right and she didn't take it off. Tries very hard to be funny and only succeeds like half of the time.

She taught year-long calc class and it was the hardest thing ever. She taught calc in words and then expected us to be able to solve on our own.
