Scores average answered numerical ratings. Older evaluation records may summarize whole sections and have no written comment. Written reviews are counted separately. How scores work
Intelligent Prof, and will help you if you need support. The workload is very fair and accomplishable. Good elective, but lectures are conceptual instead of application focused so expect to teach yourself how to actually apply course concepts at home (IE. she showed a case documentary for our midterm review instead of reviewing practice probs LOL)
Professor Hotchkiss is very intent on making exams and homework tedious. Her class is unnecessarily difficult and not at all worth taking. She doesn't want you to learn her material, she wants you to learn her method, and if you think differently from her, prepare to struggle. She is the first and only professor at BC I have had bad grades with.
Professor Hotchkiss is smart, experienced, and kind. She provides good materials to prepare for quizzes and grades them fairly. Lectures can be a bit boring. The guest speakers add valuable industry insights. I wish to have gotten explicit feedback on homework and cases to help identify errors and where I need to improve.
