GOATED Professor. He's such a great guy. Heard such good things about him even before taking the class. And the expectations for the class are clear. Generous grader. Best econ prof at BC
I feel so lucky to have taken Prof. Maxwell for Econometrics. He makes such a challenging course feel so approachable. He also distributes countless course materials to help students understand the topics. Maxwell is hilarious and willing to help students outside of class too.
I have to say that I was not expecting to get a good grade in this class since it was so hard but the curve is VERY generous. The material is hard, but he is easy to access and is a great guy overall.
Maxwell is one of my favorite econ professors I've had here. 75% of your grade is exams, but the final is optional and barely anyone takes it. The raw class average on exams are low, but he has a HUGE curve especially if you didn't do well. There is a lot of group work and he is always down to answer questions outside of class. I highly recommend.
Prof. Maxwell is so funny, and if you can take the course lightly I highly recommend. READ the recommended textbook, that will get you through this course. Maxwell cares about economics in life outside of academia and will discuss it. Lectures can wander a lot (TEXTBOOK). Will try to help people get good grades; final exam is optional.
Although sometimes difficult to understand, he is always willing to answer any questions that students have. Students have access to all previous exams and he curves extremely well. Interesting to hear his thoughts on topics since he has real-world experience.
Professor Maxwell is an amazing professor. he really cares about his students and their understanding of the course content. His class is difficult but he has lots of office hours. The research paper/project is really tough and he does a lot of group work but he is overall just a great person. You would be lucky to take his class.
