Great guy and fellow Mainer. Really approachable and easy to talk to. Gives amazing feedback and you can tell he really cares. I have learned so much from him this year. Once of my favorite teachers by far.
Lad is the best! - Currenly am teaching high school and had for a couple of writing classes. Probably the only teacher at BC that cared about his students. I still keep in touch with him and he has helped me to bring life to my teaching at the high school level. He is my hero! Take his class - You will love him.

Savvy -- asks students to talk to each other (he won't make eye contact so that students will be forced to converse with one another), challenges you to think about your pedagogy by "doing" your pedagogy, cares about the emotional energy of the writing class, encourages you to cultivate your own teaching philosophy
Lad is an excellent teacher. I had him in his Composition / Theory Writing Class at the Grad Level. He knows his stuff and he helped connect me back to the roots of writing with his books and seminars. Take his class! - One of the best!
