Perhaps it was due to the online, asynchronous nature of his Engaging Catholicism class, but I just did not enjoy his teaching style. Some of the assignments felt like absolute busy-work and the lectures were just him speaking rather than a prepared presentation. He also took forever to grade anything. Nice guy, but did not enjoy.
Prof. Tatterfield is an extraordinary teacher. I had no background with Catholicism and am not the best student but he made himself fully available to us students and did a good job of explaining very complex material. He genuinely cares about his students and wanted us to succeed. He is really passionate about the Catholic identity of the school.
