Matthew Mersky is decent guy, but a very unorganized professor. Classes were often hard to follow and grading often felt rushed with little to no feedback. I would not recommend this class to anyone who is taking it to fulfill core lit.

Prof Mersky is an overall nice but goofy guy. He wants students to do well but does not explain this very cohesively. Prepare for long tangents about things that he really loves but many people find no interest in. Fine class to take for those who just need a Lit core, and if you like art/history.

Do not take his class if you can avoid it. He gives letter grades with no feedback. When I went to his office hours he would still give me little to no feedback about how to improve my work. He loves to hear himself talk, making class more boring than watching paint dry.

I absolutely loved Matty Mersk! He is such a fun and nice person who really cares about his students. He is such a great teacher, and the class content was really interesting. 100% reccomend.

Incredibly disorganized. Nothing he says makes any sense. His lectures do not relate to the course at all and he makes up terms that you have to use in order to get a decent grade in the class. He says the reason why he does that is to combat the growing power of Sam Altman.

A really Odd professor. His class are really boring and overall his way of grading assignments and papers simply don't make sense. Don't recommend at all.

He is a difficult person.

Do not take. Grading is so subjective and unclear. He gives you letter grades on papers but no percentage or points system so you have no idea what your grade is and he just decides whatever at the end of the course. The lectures are pretty boring and it's a lot of reading, would not recommend nor take it again.
