I reread my review & realized it would be better to clarify it. I took Prof Abate's class before starting my internship at Valentino. Her course gave me a solid foundation & really helped me feel more confident going into that experience. I now work for another fashion brand in the US, and I still find myself drawing on what I learned in her class.

I took Prof Abate's class in Spring '24, and it was super engaging and really helped me grow professionally. I was recently accepted for an internship at Valentino in Milan, and taking this class made me feel more prepared and confident.

Prof Abate is a wonderful instructor! She truly cares about her students and clearly loves what she does. She appreciates honesty and active participation, so if you stay engaged and do your work, you're set for success. She also makes class fun with engaging games and activities, and provides clear review materials for the midterm and final. :-)

If you're considering taking Italian or need to fulfill a language requirement, I highly recommend Professoressa Abate. She made learning Italian so much fun, and she's the fairest grader I've ever had. I came into her class after taking Elementary Italian I and II with another instructor, and I can honestly say I learned so much from her.

Taking Italian with Prof.Abate in Fall'23 and Spring'24 was super fun. She encouraged presentations and made every class enjoyable and engaging, even when covering tough topics. We bonded as classmates, and even though some of us have graduated, we've kept in touch. I laughed daily and left inspired...would take her class again!

Take any other professor. While she was somewhat funny, she never actually understands any of the questions you ask her, she doesn't teach you anything, saying the material is easy and never knows whats on her own tests. I had to teach myself EVERYTHING for this class, her lectures provided 0 help and just felt like a waste of time.

Switched sections after a few classes. She was rude and didn't teach what she was supposed to (skipped through slides saying everything was easy). She also talked very fast and got annoyed when we didn't understand. From what I experienced not too tough of a grader, but save yourself the trouble -- there are plenty of nice professors.
