Professor Gil-Berrio is the best! I highly recommend taking her practicum. There are many opportunities to practice presenting in class which complement our video assignments we do after class. Although it is a 1-credit class, there is still a decent amount of work. This is a grade course if you want to work on your Spanish communication skills.
Prof. Gil is the best Spanish teacher I have ever had. She explains new topics very well and is super organized. In class, she encourages everyone to participate by calling on students. The class has a lot of work; however, the work is not necessarily too difficult. She grades fairly, but it is hard to get an A in the Spanish classes here.
Prof. Gil-Berrio is a great professor, please don't listen to what people say about the CCR program. Extremely organized class and the Spanish grammar you learn will be very important and useful for real speaking; you just have to really put in the effort to learn it. Nearly impossible to get an A in the CCR program, but your Spanish will benefit.
She was a very fun yet knowledgeable professor. Her presence and the amount of class participation made the class enjoyable. Her office hours were very helpful, and she would often attempt to call on everyone during the class so that those less confident in their Spanish would still have a good participation grade.
Professor Gil-Berrio is a great teacher. She is extremely caring and accommodating. If you do the homework and make an effort in class you will do well. The exams were also identical to the practice exams. She is also a good contact to know in the Spanish department if you ever want to study abroad. Fun class, fun professor, I 100% recommend.
She is extremely caring and understanding, and is very patient with your mistakes. She really encourages you to participate and speak Spanish, and will correct you and help you speak better without being rude. Spanish dept. classes always have a lot of work, but it is not overbearing like other Spanish classes I've had. Took pass/fail
Fantastic professor. The class was very well organized. She follows the syllabus to the letter -- all expectations are outlined clearly. Cares about her students and is willing to write recommendations, offer support outside class, etc. The homework is pretty intense, and the tests are difficult (but they are standardized across the CCR program).
She is a wonderful professor. She is engaging and very clear, flexible, and understanding. The grading is fair. The work is challenging but she always answers questions with helpful explanations. Office hours has allowed me to see her joy for teaching and her desire for her students to succeed. I recommend any and all of her classes!
She is great at explaining grammatical concepts and patient in correcting our mistakes. She took our questions seriously and even came prepared with a new lecture based on something I asked. She was also great at facilitating a friendly and open class environment. The tests were very tricky--just keep up with the (many) readings and assignments.
Incredibly nice and helpful. There is a good amount of homework, but every assignment felt like it had a purpose (not just busy work). I definitely learned a lot and would recommend her for Advanced Spanish.
Great teacher overall, gives great feedback on papers. You have lots of different opportunities to help your grade if you bomb something. Very straightforward class with a little bit of everything: reading, grammar (4 quizzes), writing (3 essays), and presentations in front of class. Definitely gotta work for it but overall shes great.

Best Spanish professor I have ever had. CCR1 is hard but we learned a lot. All sections take the same exams.
