Professor Balazs is amazing, honestly the best professor I have ever had. His class is super engaging and full of energy, so you actually want to show up. Tests are easy because everything is clear and well structured. The readings are fun too. I even took another class with him the next year.
The teacher is excellent in teaching and encourages students to express their ideas in class. Using his own vivid way of expressing what he taught us, the students in class seemed to be exploring in a very interesting way. His extra points can greatly reduce stress
He is the best professor I have ever seen. He was meticulous when he typed and lectured in case his students could not understand what he said. The grades he gave were very friendly.

Balazs can be the best professor ever! He is sooooo funny. work and tests won't be too hard if you pay attention in his class. I mean, you will always pay attention in his class. His class is the one that you never want to skip! HE is now teaching at Northeastern though.
Balazs is an amazing professor! I absolutely loved his class. He explains everything extremely clearly and is extremely excited about the material. His enthusiasm and passion for the topics inspires interest in the class and makes students want to do the reading and the work. Very fair grader and genuinely helpful and wonderful professor!
Balazs is an outstanding professors. Extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and knows how to make the material interesting. Very understanding and cares about his students. Instead of lecturing from a textbook, Balazs incorporates interesting historical texts that you learn and remember from, rather than just memorize. Take Balazs if possible!
Balazs is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. Fair grader, which encourages you to do the work. Makes history interesting! So animated and funny. Amazing teacher, take the class if you can.
Balazs is a wonderful teacher. He is extremely enthusiastic and makes dull history core material interesting. Instead of lecturing out of a text book he incorporates fascinating novels and historical texts that you actually learn and remember material from. Very understanding and helpful. Definitely take Balazs if at all possible!
I loved this class. Prof. Szelenyi is extremely knowledgeable in his field of European History, and I really enjoyed all of the readings. It wasn't your typical shove information into your brain type of class; rather, I learned more than I expected through historical lens. The only suggestion I would make is to structure more organized lectures.
Balazs is the greatest man on earth! He is beyond hilarious and has a beautiful passion for teaching history. His class is fair and fun and the work load is not bad at all. He is extremely understanding and intelligent. His knowledge rubs off a great deal!
Balazs is absolutely the man. Understand the life of a student and is very lenient about work. Encourages students to work hard with a fair grading policy and provides a unique lens through which to few the insanity and debauchery of history. A++++
Really enthusiastic about the class, even if you don't like history he makes it interesting. Reading is a lot but isnt always necessary. Great teacher especially for a core class
Very enthusiastic. Sort of goes on rants but keeps them interesting. Assigns a lot of reading but isn't strict about it, knows his students have a lot of other work. Renewed my interest in history. Sends out the quiz questions ahead of time. I think he's moving to Northeastern but take his class if you can!
