Wow... a truly useful class. I expected a lot of theory, but Katie tied together theory and practice concepts related to workforce development, capacity building, and operations management in a seamless manner and offered her own professional experience as case study. She went well above and beyond in her accessibility to students as well.
Katie was fabulous. She is informed and well spoken. She cares about her students and made financial management fun. Yep, thats right I said "fun," and better yet, I meant it!
I wasn't sure what to think of this course as we started the semester, but I must say, having Catherine Mick as a professor MADE the class. She was so helpful, and always available and willing to meet outside of class to talk about anything we didn't understand in class or to help you out with your paper. I would definitely take her class again!
I dreaded this course. It seemed really difficult and conceptual and not at all relevant to my goals for grad. school. I am so glad that this was a requirement. Katie is incredibly enthusiastic, very available for students. She is demanding, but she lets you know that up-front and is consistent. I really learned a lot.
