Scores average answered numerical ratings. Older evaluation records may summarize whole sections and have no written comment. Written reviews are counted separately. How scores work
Reads directly off the slides, which are just pictures of the textbook, and explanations are extremely unclear and unhelpful. Most of the lecture material isn't relevant. No clear communication about what would be on quizzes and exams. He had limited office hours at the most inconvenient time. Be prepared to just self-teach.
Lectures were literal pictures of the textbook. things were explained in such a confusing roundabout way. The TAs literally made very single quiz and exam it was always unclear about the content that we actually needed to study. Often the quizzes/exams would barely cover content that was lectured about because it was irrelevant
Lectures are difficult to follow, covered so many topics that even the TA's would say aren't relevant and were never seen on exams or quizzes. Not helpful to ask questions during office hours as he will treat you like you're stupid. Saving grace is that the quizzes and exams aren't as difficult as other orgo classes but be prepared to self-teach
Worst chemistry professor I have had at BC so far. Not a bad grader just avoid asking questions. Office hours are useless, once asked a clarifying question and was told "I thought you were going to ask a more deep/insightful question but if that's all then yes. He has a very difficult time answering questions well and without judgement. Rely on TA.
Dr. Zhang delivers lectures like a mix of Google Translate and textbook copy-paste. Clarity? Not here! Expect to learn more from the textbook than from him, especially since he misses lectures and lets the TA take over. If you love puzzles, confusion, and surprise guest lectures, this class is for you!
