Scores average answered numerical ratings. Older evaluation records may summarize whole sections and have no written comment. Written reviews are counted separately. How scores work
Although my grade in the class was good, I did not enjoy the class at all. There was way too much reading. Also, she seemed to categorize students and give them the same grade for the whole semester. I took her perspectives and dropped it half way through. Other perspectives teachers will grade more fairly. She is nice though.
Professor Magri is one of the smartest and kindest professors at boston college. She is extremely gifted at bringing her students to terse and difficult texts, brightening the both. She is very generous with her time, so I highly recommend making use of her office hours. Definitely worth taking her classes and taking seriously.
few things for class but pretty harsh grader. Not a lot of homework because she spends a lot of time on the reading. If no one is talking in class she will cold call on you. I don't think she understands how a lot of things at BC work because she would get mad at kids registering for classes during class or when there was noise outside of stokes.
Class lectures were informative and interactive, the content was very well described. Readings were never long, and there were not that many of them. There are only two papers for the class, and one group project that is graded by peer evaluation. SO much better than another philosophy professor I had, so glad I switched sections.
Professor Magri cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She continually asks for feedback on assignments and lecture speed to ensure that none of her students are getting left behind. She encourages student discussion and makes everyone feel like their points matter and that they are not dumb.
