Professor Petit laughed at one of my questions because I did not ask my question like a mathematician in front of other students and thought I was cheating during a Zoom exam and called me out in front of the entire class during said exam. That kind of tells you all you need to know about who he is.

He's super helpful: allows cheat sheets, gives extra credit, and is super helpful when you ask. If you actually pay attention and participate, you'll be great. Would take again.

He was available outside of class and willing to help. You will struggle if you are not naturally good at math. However, homework and lab grades are a good portion of your final grade. On every exam, you could guess what questions would, be asked and usually there was one pretty difficult one. He likes the people that participate.

As long as you complete the homework and pay even the slightest attention during class, you will do well. The problem is he gave four midterms during the semester which was absurd. Thankfully your lowest exam grade is dropped along with so many other assignments. Really available outside of class too with tons of office hours.

Three homework assignments per week. Exam every three weeks. Exams are long and difficult.

He was very resourceful and available throughout the semester. While this class was not particularly easy for me, his dedication to assist me during office hours definitely contributed to my success.

Very passionate teacher who enjoys what we learn. Straight forward lectures, always available for help, can tell he cares about his students and wants us to learn

I read some of the other responses and I think that the professor himself wrote the 5 star ratings. He was as a consensus one of the worst teachers my class had had since being in the education system. He wasn't caring for his students, was not able to make himself available DESPITE branding himself as that. Never take his course. Truly the worst.

Professor Petit and I had several conversations where I believed I could not succeed in his course, and he constantly encouraged me in spite of my anxiety and my performance in the class. Professor Petit made sure to give all of the students in his class this same level of respect. Extremely respectful and kind

One of my favorite math professors at BC. Professor Petit is a good professor always available after class and if you need personal support. He also adjusted to students' needs after the first midterm was overly long

He made it such a fun class. I was intimidated when I was first in touch with this mathematical concept, but after a while I love it because of him. Very good!

Petit gives a lot of assignments, but this was helpful in keeping up with the material in class/preparing for exams. He's super accessible and helpful in office hours. We covered a lot of topics not covered in normal math classes, which made things more interesting than the normal calc class.

Copy everything from the textbook to the blackboard, just not capable of answering any questions besides repeating what's in the textbook. The assignment aims to waste your time instead of checking your understanding. Teaching in a so confusing way.

Petit is the single worst professor I have ever had. He assigns 5 homework's/assignment's a week and yes, I said a week. He is a poor teacher and moves through course material extremely fast and doesn't seem to care if his students fall behind. When he grades tests he makes it a priority to take off as many points as possible. Never take this class

He simply cannot teach. If you ask a question he just repeats what he said which makes everything more confusing. He grades extremely harsh, HWs are way too hard. His assignments take forever, class averages are always low. I read the reviews here and thought "won't be that bad," in two words, it was. Do not under any circumstances take him.

Professor Petit is by far the worst professor I have ever had in 14 years of education. He assigns insurmountable amounts of work in addition to being one the harshest graders I have ever witnessed. You will probably get zero credit for most assignments regardless of how much time, effort, and work is put into it. This man will ruin your life!!!!!!

Terrible professor. Incredibly rude if you need any sort of accommodation. Tests every 3 weeks. 4 to 5 homework assignments a week. Do not take unless you have a solid understanding of calculus and precalculus as he does not teach well and you teach yourself outside of class.

Really tough grader. I would stay away. Literally took off 2 points because i missed the i in "lim" on the first limits test. He is also not a good teacher to be honest. The only reason I did well was because I took calc in high school.

Steer clear, really not great.
