There are definitely better professors out there. Expects too much from her students and doesn't understand that students have other classes. A little bit full of herself
Frankly she's just difficult. Not a mean lady. Just full of herself. Not compassionate. No idea why her rating is so high. Much better and easier professors out there. Assumes you've taken a stats class before.
The class itself was definitely hard, we had hw, quizzes, video lectures, readings and labs every single week. However, Boardman was extremely accessible and supportive. She can seem intense at first, but if you go to office hours and put in the work, she'll help you in whatever you need. She's the best!! Would definitely recommend.
She is best stats prof. and very fair. Would def take again. The TA's are super helpful so go to their office hours. Boardman is also very available outside of class time.
Professor Boardman is a great person who's passionate about statistics. Although, this class really depends on independent learning, with lots of homework and textbook readings teaching you more about the content than class. Thank God for the TAs, as every drop-in session was packed. Exams fairly straight forward but make sure you study a lot.
Exams are difficult, rude, not accommodating, spent hours upon hours on homework assignments, which you need to do cause that was my main source of learning. Good luck. Did meet a lot of cool people in this class though, so get to know your classmates because everyone is struggling.
I don't get why LBL's ratings aren't higher. By far one of the best profs I've had at BC. Yes, the class is challenging, but that's stats. She was always accessible outside of class and was so helpful during office hours. You have to put in the work to be successful, but I highly recommend taking her for stats.
Boardman is the best professor for this class at Boston College. It's just a hard class and there's no way around it. She lays out everything throughly. You can do well on exams if you study a lot. HW and Writing assignments just take up A LOT of time until you get used to it. Coding part was easy.
Super nice professor that cares alot. The class is pretty difficult, so try not to fall behind and go to office hours if you have questions. She is super fun to talk to outside of class and seems to really care
The content itself was not too difficult, but the coding program used is very confusing at first which made the first half of the course very difficult. Lots of homework. Nice professor but gets to the point and strict in lectures. Need to attend to succeed. LOTS of homework!!!
Professor Boardman while challenging gives very good examples and will push you to get better. I think a lot of people are not prepared to work hard but she is fair. She is also very accessible at office hours and good at explaining concepts. You will learn in her class.
She is an amazing professor who always is free for office hours. She understands and communicates the material so clearly by tying in her previous work experience. She is not easy and you will have to work hard, but I believe she is the best option for statistical analysis.
Do not take this class with this Professor. She is supposed to be the department head, yet the class is sooo poorly structured that it is impossible to keep up. I'm not even new to stats, and this class was extremely difficult for other classmates as well.
Stats is not an easy course. Professor Boardman was sweet, caring, and an overall nice teacher. However, her exams are very difficult. She does not prepare you well enough for them. Not familiar with the other options, but I would be reluctant to take this course.
Just take another professor for this class. She makes the class too complicated for what it needs to be, and I'm sure that grading will be more favorable with other professors teaching the course.
Take at your own risk. Perfect class for someone who can learn all the material by themselves throughout the semester and does not need to actively learn it in class at a drastically fast pace. Not sure if the class itself shapes the overall difficulty with this professor, but in general, the hardest class a 1st/2nd-year student could take in CSOM.
Prof. Boardman was nice as long as things went her way; she came off as condescending and rude if they didn't. Her lectures were clear and the material was taught well. She was usually available outside of class. The class was overall good and the work was doable for the most part but it's not a course or professor I would want to take again.
I took Professor Boardman for an R programming class. She was extremely fun and helpful, especially in class. She was super accessible and accommodating. Very good explanations as well. Course was not too hard but 50% of the grade was based on 2 exams that were 11 questions each. Overall, she's the best and I would recommend her courses.
Professor Boardman was such a good professor! She is super kind and clearly cares a lot about her students. She is always willing to meet outside of class and she does everything she can to ensure that her students succeed. Overall, would highly recommend taking her!
Took an R programming course taught by her. The stat knowledge isn't difficult, but those who aren't familiar with programming might struggle a bit in the beginning (not for my case). The tests are fairly straightforward. Overall, an easy A for me.
A downside to Prof Boardman's class is she does not review the homework and moves very fast in class, which is why if you take her, be prepared to see TA's for homework help. From what I have heard, she is the best B Stats prof. I managed to get a B with a lot of hard work. She is nice to students, but her lectures can be boring so bring coffee.
Its Stats, its not supposed to be easy. I think shes the best stats Professor at BC though. She is caring and will make the time outside of class to help you. BUY THE PHYSICAL BOOK AND READ IT!
Had her for business stats. She gives a lot of little pieces of homework but so does every other professor for b stats. Super approachable, totally go to her office hours and get to know her because she wants to get to know her students. Loved her so much!!

Intense lady, but by far the best prof for BStats. Pretty straightforward lectures, can just be a bit challenging if you've never taken Stats before.

Prof. Boardman taught well and was very passionate about the topic. Very caring and good at explaining concepts through somewhat relevant examples.

Very, very difficult. Not much of a choice when it comes to stats professors, though.
