Professor Michalczyk was the best. Such a sweet man who is obviously very passionate about what he teaches. Every class we would watch parts of multiple movies and have a student presentations. Class was graded on three quizzes and a student presentation, but everything was very straightforward and easy. Overall, would definitely recommend!
I love Michalcyzk, Courage to Know was awesome. If you do not like group discussions, then probablly do not take, because that is essentially the class. Really intresting group conversation, and an extremely light classload. I am excited to take him again in the future. If you do not like group discussions every day then maybe consider it.
Prof. Michalcyzk is incredibly friendly and passionate about film. I took 2 of his classes over the summer and they were easy to follow and not too much work. Prof. Michalcyzk was an easy grader and was open to different perspectives on the assignments. You didn't have to follow the prompt exactly. Definitely recommend him! You'll have fun.
I love Professor Michalcyzk. He is so sweet and is always willing to connect films to anything and everything even sort of relating to the topic. The essays are graded fairly easily too.
Michalczyk was seriously one of my favorite professors. If you want to take Courage to Know, TAKE JOHN MICHALCZYK!! Super passionate about what he talks about, and he is focused on getting the message across not making the class or papers difficult for you. Not a heavy workload and its always a class I look forward to! Would definitely take again
Had him for Courage to Know. Obviously that class is easy with any professor, but we literally had no homework all year except for readings we'd have summarized for us at the beginning of class. Super chill, and he's pretty interesting. Super nice guy; very passionate!!
