Really fun & interesting course. I am really glad I choose world cinema with civille as my cultural diversity core. 3 papers and a final paper. Civille has high but not unreasonable expectations. Visit his office hours to run by ideas for papers. Go to class, write thoughtful essays and you will do great. He is an excellent professor. no textbooks.
Mike is an extremely friendly guy, a lover of film,a talented filmmaker, and has high expectations for his students. His classes are not a joke, but they are extremely fun and rewarding. I think I put more actual work hours into Mike's classes including Film I, Film II, and Digital Non-Linear than any other classes I took at BC, but it was worth it
