Scores average answered numerical ratings. Older evaluation records may summarize whole sections and have no written comment. Written reviews are counted separately. How scores work
Phil O'Leary is an excellent professor with encyclopedic knowledge of and passion for his subject matter. Interested and engaged students should not have a problem comprehending his lectures. It is particularly helpful if you have some understanding of Irish history and literature. He was one of my favorite professors while I was at Boston College.
Unprofessionally disorganized, distracted and unavailable. His communication skills are poor and it is uncertain as to what his expectations are. A VERY intelligent and erudite individual who clearly enjoys the material but lacks the ability to engage students because of his remote attitude. Unfortunate!
His notes are yellowed from years of use. His voice is tired, and soon you will find so are you. He is supremely boring and thinks he knows everything about everything. He's not a super tough grader (most people get Bs), but lecture is just so painful.
