Professor Fried is really kind and cares for his students inside and outside of classroom. Definitely go to his office hours! He is undeniably passionate about his research and any liberal arts related.
Professor Fried is an extremely knowledgeable professor. He is extremely kind, but there is a ton of reading. Grades are mostly made up of discussion board posts, weekly journals, and papers, which is awesome. Definitely go to his office hours, as he really cares about all of his students and wants you to succeed. He doesn't answer emails though.
Don't miss the opportunity to take Fried. He sets the bar high, but don't be scared; he'll take you seriously, meet you where you are, and support you. If you show interest, take risks, attend office hours, and make effort, you'll get good grades. Makes class fun and involving. (PS - true course code was unavailabe; this a Heidegger course).

Best professor ever. No need to explain. Looks like he goes to concerts every day too.
