Using a critical lens, this course will explore how raceand racismintersect with the law. The course will examine how the law has both perpetuated and challenged racial subordination in the United States, as well as the potential and limitations of law in eradicating racial injustice. While the course will examine a range of issues, significant attention will be given to the role of race in the criminal system.
