She should not be working here anymore. She made me drop the class because she didn't want to deal with my medical accommodations, which is illegal. Do not take a class with her.
Amazing professor. I am going to be taking my third class with him and I can already tell it is going to be my favorite class. He is especially good if you are interested in Latin America or economics in politics.
Great teacher. The first few weeks of class are a little daunting because the material is new. Still, amazing teacher. I couldn't recomend him enough. He cares a lot about his students and helping you learn at a fast pace!
Keep up with your Spanish outside of class, do the reading thoroughly, go to office hours, and you'll get an A. Spanish department curves are tough, though.
Great lecturer. Doesn't make study guides, so pay attention in class and take good notes. Theories on cancer are questionable, but easy points on the final for telling him he's right.
Had him for Philosophy of the Person. Easy grader. Go to office hours a few times and participate in class. He seems to like it when students compare course material to other philosophical works not covered in class.
As much history as political science. Really interesting stuff. Do the reading. Pay attention/participate in class and attend office hours, and he'll grade generously.
She is super passionate about the course which makes it more engaging! Very manageable work load each week. Exams were online but surprisingly more difficult than expected. She offers a lot of extra credit so ending with a good grade is definitely manageable.
This has been one of my favorite class at boston college. He is passionate about his work and very laid back. Truly wants you to succeed! Made me want to minor in theology.

This class was very frustrating and I found the work to be very excessive considering it is a required course for all freshman
I did not find the lectures to coincidence with the exams/quizzes. I found the slideshows to be very confusing as she never posts them with her notes attached.
I would recommend his class for Studies In Narrative. There's definitely an emphasis on Irish literature, so if you were interested in that field, I would take his class. He has really consistent office hours, so I'd recommend going to them as much as possible.
Very engaging professor and light grader. The class is slides based and you mostly need to know vocab and how that connects with concepts. She is very sweet and very humble. She cares a lot about her students!
This has been one of the only classes I've taken where I've worked extremely hard for an A. He wants to see your growth and gets upset if he has to consistently explain your mistakes to you. He is a quirky guy but definitely cares a lot. Only take if you love the practice of writing.
Best prof I've ever had. Will learn your name if you participate (impressive in a 300-p lecture). Teaches you about real-world, applicable concepts. Office hours are a great resource. Super cool and personable guy, makes every effort to help you succeed. I would jump off a bridge if he told me to.
Passionate & well-qualified on the topic, cares about her students. Regurgitate everything she says in lectures and you’ll ace it. Readings are helpful but not strictly necessary. Gives a pretty one-sided perspective, so just be careful when learning/internalizing to recognize where there is bias.
Clearly cares a lot about philosophy & her students. Entirely discussion-based classes, leaves concepts clear but details blurry (annoying bc she’s an extremely nit-picky grader). Hella reading, cold calls, hard to fail but also hard to get an A. It might be true that she pre-determines your grade.
Clearly cares a lot about her students. Light work but still engaging, pretty easy to get an A. If you hate mindfulness, she might not be the prof for you, but I found her caring and a great faculty resource for the future.
Super easy and fun P/F class to get one extra credit out of the way. Work is minimal and you'll get out what you put in in terms of learning, but in terms of grades it would be like impossible to fail this. Nice guy.
be sure to participate even if you think the class is a drag. readings aren't too bad. go to office hours for the papers. hes a nice guy so if you just put in the effort youll get an A
do not take
very chill class. its also fun and easy to participate. prof hanly genuinely cares about what you have to say. grading isn't harsh at all. totally recommend
i took black memoir matters and it was great. prof ards genuinely cares for her students. all the readings are really engaging and interesting. totally recommend
She is a very nice teacher and gives extra credit opportunities. She is a light grader as long as you do your work. Her tests can be annoying because she styles them a little weird, but overall a good teacher.
Had prof Slyman for calc 2. Genuinely one of the best professors I've ever had!! So good at answering any questions you have and really kind, exams were always fair too
Wonderful prof! An engaging and interesting theology core, but not too difficult. Also just a very nice person. Definitely recommend taking his courses if you can!
Black Memoir Matters was one of the best courses I have taken at BC. She is engaging, really cares about her students, and made me want to do my very best work. 10/10, love Professor Ards, take a class with her
Good lecturer and just generally a very nice person. Great prof to fulfill Systems requirements with.
