Very nice guy, wants all of his students to do well, and is very supportive
This was the most miserable course I have ever had to take. He harps on the same two real world examples all semester and I feel as though I am being "taught" something different in lecture vs. the post class materials vs. lab section vs. homework assignments.
Genuinely the best teacher I've ever had. Extremely kind and understanding, showed interest in the material, teaches well, cares about all his students, and was especially understanding when I mentioned problems I was having with mental health. I'd 100% recommend him for anyone and everyone
One of the kindest professors I have had at BC. The class is very well structured, and she gives study guides and mock quizzes, which she uses for questions on the exams. If you need to take your Theo Core take it with Prof Miura!
One of the best professors I’ve had. She truly cares about her students, offers extra credit, and is very available outside class. The material can be difficult, but she explains it well and always goes the extra mile to help.
Super passionate and responsive prof, always looking to help students do well. Problem sets and practice tests mirrored the exams and were incredibly helpful. Highly recommend.
I took engaging Catholicism with him and it was amazing. Engaged well with students and wants everyone to succeed.
The goat of teaching. Most insightful professor at BC. Great curriculum and fair exams as long as you study.
The goat of teaching.
Professor comes across as personable, but the course itself was difficult to navigate due to an unorganized structure and repetitive content. Assignments focused on niche topics, and expectations were often unclear. Feedback could feel discouraging if those expectations weren’t met.
Professor Topete is the GOAT. Totally respectful and loves to hear what students think, and lets curiosity lead the discussion. A fair grader and just the nicest guy in the world.
GOAT CS Professor
Professor Bolotin's class is very easy for Computer Systems. Yes, the lectures sometimes get boring, but she makes it very easy to understand if you pay attention.
worst spanish professor i ever had
Svetelj is a nice guy but he makes the class unreasonably hard. If you are taking a philosophy core, I would highly recommend against him. Midterm and final are both 30% of your grade and the average was around a C. Terrible teacher to take to knock out philosophy core.
She is very nice, but the class is incredibly boring and unnecessarily hard. The readings are extremely long and hard to get through. She is also a pretty harsh grader.
nice guy and interesting class, but do not recommend as an easy natural science credit fulfillment. you definitely have to go to class, take notes and study for the exams. not really homework besides labs, which are very manageable.
Honestly the best Molecules and Cells professor. But expect a B going in. She curves to B - average. Also, be prepared for "SELECT ALL THAT APPLY" questions. Really attentive and caring professor. Attendance not required. Homeworks and in-class activities "help" prepare you for midterms.
I think Allgood did a pretty good job with what can be a difficult and uninteresting class. Personally, I found the content difficult to understand and you really have to fully grasp the concepts in order to do well on the exams. There are definitely enough resources and office hours though.
I had professor Bruce for my enduring questions course, and she was amazing!! Provides clear instructions and actionable feedback that make it easy to improve. She is so knowledgeable and intelligent overall. Also, she's just a great person!
harder than it should be
With a tough Spanish department at BC, he makes up for it. One of my favorite professors at BC who truly wants everyone to do so well. Can not recommend him enough
Pretty light workload, tests and quizzes aren't hard as long as you read and pay attention to lectures. Also just an overall nice and personable guy
very nice and reasonable guy- class is what you make of it- you can learn if you want basically- a lot of work for a 1 credit async imo but don't worry abt it- good easy credit to take first semester if you can- if not dw abt it
OD for a theatre class- its a lot of work for an arts core- try and take arts core ABROAD if you can its just hard at BC- this class isn't the end of the world I learned a lot at least and nice guy but it's a lot of work- if you like theatre go ahead though good prof otherwise
sensational. might be the nicest person at BC- as an advisor he isn't overly useful unless you are clueless but that is kinda what an advisor is supposed to do anyway- too nice and too fair to give you the inside scoop on stuff so don't expect it- my only grievance
ONE OF THE MORE OVERRATED PROFS AT BC- nice enough woman very chill- tests are written poorly tho- worded very weirdly so you need to try and guess what she is looking for- not bad but not good imo- definitely cares abt teaching I would say though- don't avoid
very nice grader and GREAT man- computers allowed, doesn't care too much abt participation, no in class assignments at all- if you need an extra class he is the GOAT- one of the easiest As at BC(no diss, still great teacher) and pretty interesting as well
1 DEVINE 2 ERBIL- decent, don't email him or go to office hrs he gets rly annoyed- but class isn't too bad and its optional- lectures posted online- tests are clear on what's gonna be on it- he won't hurt you- nice enough guy
DONT TRUST GOOD REVIEWS- sm ppl rly like his political/religious views(rejected by serious scholars anyway)- class is a lot of work and nukes GPA and you learn very little compared to the time spent- random MCQs about what was the title of chapter 37 etc- FADE
